LANDOFTHEFOURONES is our selection with Monaco and Awesome Surprise on the shortlist. David Lanigan's season has been a pretty fair one and while the bird had flown last time out at Pontefract, he showed enough to suggest that there is a modest maiden within his compass. Monaco is a half-brother to a German listed performer over seven furlongs. There is plenty of encouragement on the dam side to suggest that this trip will not be an issue. Awesome Surprise like many of her trainer's maidens was overbet last time out. That said, the winner had shaped well at Pontefract previously so initial crabbing of the form could well prove wide of the mark. Monetary Fund was due to run at Epsom on Wednesday so his participation may be in some doubt. Ulzana is a half-brother to the sprinter Eton Rifles and has already had the unkindest cut of all. Elements sets the benchmark for the purposes of the handicapper. Luisa Tetrazzini was tailed off at Leicester on debut. The fact that we haven't seen her for so long suggests that it has taken time for her to get over what was probably an unfortunate experience. Realistically not too many of this lot can be considered though Landofthefourones will set a stiff standard for them all to surpass.
