An open ladies handicap to get proceedings underway, where varied riding abilities could prove key in determining the outcome of it. SHE'S SO PRETTY can land it for the father and daughter combination of Gary and Hayley Moore. A number of dangers could be cited including Barathea Dreams and South Wales who was the subject of strong market support when landing a Brighton handicap last time out and who's shrewd yard continue in a rich vein of form with their select band of runners. Although a maiden after 16 starts, She's So Pretty has shown a much improved level of form this season since being acquired by Gary Moore from Walter Swinburn. The application of headgear could well be the secret to this. She has travelled very sweetly, when differing tactics were applied on her last two starts and while the drop back to a mile is the unknown, given the type of race, a fast pace is likely to materialise and that should allow Hayley Moore to gradually work her way into contention. A mark of 57 looks feasible and the yard do particularly well with horses of this type. Barathea Dreams arrives here after a victory under today's partner at Chepstow, that win being his first in three years. The stiff track at Chepstow and the testing ground conditions played right to his strengths but on this livelier surface, he could not be put forward with any confidence. That said, he remains well-handicapped on the best of his form. South Wales has an inexperienced rider on-board but should the market speak in his favour it would be folly not to take note. He steps back in trip after his success over ten furlongs at Brighton last time and only received a 6lb hike for that win. Admittedly, he did beat a bunch of exposed rivals but he did it very easily and given his unexposed profile, he rates a big danger. Front-running tactics worked the oracle for Lopinot last time at Brighton but his inexperienced rider faces a stiff task to get the fractions right here, taking into consideration she will be hassled for the lead right from the outset. Emily Jones is an eye-catching booking for the top-weight Valentino Swing who's last effort is best forgotten as he is simply not as effective on the all-weather surfaces as the turf. He was badly drawn at Kempton last time and is better judged on his previous two efforts. This is only his second attempt at a mile but he will not lack for assistance from the saddle. Daring Dream raced far too keenly for his own good at Newmarket last time out but the form of his Yarmouth run two starts back is not working out badly, the second having run very well in a competitive Newmarket handicap subsequently. Not the easiest of puzzles to solve and She's So Pretty is selected to land it and in turn, break her maiden tag.
