Verdict
The vote here goes to Vale de Lobo, with her biggest dangers reckoned to be Babe Maccool and Kharish. A six-pounds rise in the ratings might not be enough to stop Vale de Lobo following up her Windsor success. She looked good on that occasion, is clearly at home at this type of trip and, if in the same type of form, looks set to go well. Babe Maccool is also on the up, having won two of his last three races, and he also looks set for a big run, but Sun Kissed has something to prove following a couple of indifferent runs. Kharish, however, is respected, as he ran fairly well at Royal Ascot at York last time, having been a fair second at Newbury the time before, and today's trip could suit him better than for those two races. The lightly-raced Breathing Fire looks set to appreciate tonight's step up in trip, so do not rule out a good run, but Aiguille is going to have to show more than when winning his maiden at Brighton last time. Pevensey has yet to score from the mark he is on today, while Blue Train has something to prove after flopping at York last time, although he's been given plenty of time to get over that run. Bayeux de Moi looks capable of winning from his current mark, although he lacks a run this season (and he's closely weighted with Pevensey based on Leicester form of last October) while Hope An Glory is rated a pound lower than when scoring at Bath two runs ago, but this looks like a tougher overall contest. The overall vote, though, goes to Vale de Lobo.
