This is not the easiest race to assess, so only a tentative nomination goes the way of Luck In Running, who edges the verdict over Scot Love and Cross The Line. There may also be more to come from Parkview Love now that he has rediscovered his form and he is also worth noting for signs of each-way support. Cross The Line is less exposed than most and is long overdue another try over a mile. The four-year-old won on firm ground at York last year and will be a potent threat if he were to run to that level. He has handled this course, so should not be ruled out too quickly. Scot Love won his maiden over course and distance in May and obviously has little to fear from the conditions. However, Jeremy Noseda's charge has been found out subsequently and needs to brush aside a couple of modest efforts. Therefore, it may pay to side with an improving type and we look no further than Luck In Running on this occasion. Mark Johnston has experimented with him regarding his best trip and appears to be getting to the bottom of this son of Running Stag. Being a half-brother to Hello Lucky - a useful filly over a mile in the States - this lightly raced individual has plenty of ticks in the right boxes. And, from a handy weight, Luck In Running looks a value option in a real puzzler of a race.
