QUICK WIT is narrowly preferred here to Silent Majority, Tamaathul and Falakee. The selection has had one race at Lingfield where he shaped with plenty of promise after blowing his chance with a slow start. He looks sure to have learnt plenty from the experience and with the yard in such good form he must be high on any shortlist. As should the once-raced Tamaathul. This son of Tiger Hill ran well behind Dancing David at Newbury and his trainer has a good record at the track. Paul Hanagan looks an interesting jockey booking for Silent Majority whose sales price increased as a two-year-old, whilst Caldercruix and On The Cusp will both be qualified for handicaps after this race. Oriental Cat cost 100,000 guineas and represents powerful connections, so along with Falakee (trainer likes to send his good two-year-old's to the track) and Brananx (dam a juvenile winner), he needs respect. This looks a quality maiden where the market should help provide some further clues, however without that information we are happy to side with Quick Wit.
