RUSSIAN SPIRIT's form has been franked and from the bottom of the weights he looks sure to run well; Henry Candy's pair of Seamus Shindig and Aye Aye Digby give the experienced trainer of quality sprinters a strong hand. Michael Jarvis has his horses in fair form and this Falbrav filly is having a good season. Her latest beating of Hotham at York has been franked by that horse (who re-opposes today) winning since, and with conditions in her favour she looks sure to run well in her bid for a second course and distance success. Hotham is a horse that links a few of these; he was second to Silver Wind here in September (Atlantic Story third, Sunrise Safari in fourth, Servoca in fifth, Hamoody and Seamus Shindig midfield) and may not be done with yet with conditions to suit. Zidane is talented and won't mind conditions, a comment that also applies to top-weight Icelandic who is another who runs this track well. Hitchens still looks fairly treated, Lowther will like this more than the kickback at Southwell earlier this month, whilst Aye Aye Digby has his ideal conditions. River Falcon is starting to look well-treated and this six furlong trip with cut in the ground will play to his strengths. Another fantastic puzzle for punters to scratch their heads over, and our tentative nomination goes to Russian Spirit.
