Aironi have bolstered their side for next season with the signing of South African flanker Frans Viljoen.

Aironi have bolstered their side for next season with the signing of South African flanker Frans Viljoen. The 28-year-old will make the switch from the Cheetahs, with Viljoen set to team up with Naas Olivier at the club. Viljoen has previously experience in Europe, having helped Stade Francais to the Top 14 title five years ago. "We are pleased to have signed Frans on a two year contract. He will add experience, power and physicality in the back row area, so important in modern rugby," said director of rugby Franco Tonni. "If necessary, he can also play as a lock. That's why we think he's the right guy in the right place."
