Stade Francais fly-half Jules Plisson says his three-match ban for violent behaviour has given him time to refocus ahead of his comeback in Saturday's Paris derby against Racing 92.
The 25-year-old was red-carded against Castres on September 10 for a late shoulder charge on Samoan-born winger David Smith.
"It's been a long break and even though I didn't need it I did a great deal of work on my physique," said the France international.
"Despite everything it's done me good to have a break. It gave me time to think about all the areas in which I need to improve, to put the season into perspective, work out why I got the red card in the first place.
"I'm an international now. I'm 25-year-old. I need to be better prepared."
2015 champions Stade are struggling in ninth place in the Top 14 while their hosts for Saturday's game, current champions Racing 92, are in 11th.
Meanwhile, Toulon have extended the contract of Australian utility back Matthew Carraro until the end of the season.
Carraro, 32, initially joined Toulon as a medical replacement for injured Japanese full-back Ayumu Goromaru.
Despite Goromaru now being fit Toulon decided to extend the four-time capped Wallaby's contract "at least until the end of the season".
