Edinburgh Rugby hooker Stuart McInally has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a new deal until May 2016.
McInally has agreed the contract as Edinburgh prepare for the final of the European Challenge Cup against Gloucester on Friday.
The 24-year-old joined Edinburgh in 2010 and played in the back row until making the decision to switch to hooker two years ago.
"Obviously everyone's thinking about the final on Friday and, for me, it's nice to know I'm secure here at Edinburgh for another season so I'm looking forward to that," said the former Scotland U20 international.
Due to back row injury, McInally started on the blindside in the European Cup semi-final against Dragons and set up the victory with a superb try, continuing at No 6 in last week's win.
"It's been good to get some game time at hooker – obviously the injuries we've had in the back row have seen me playing a bit back there, which has been nice,” added McInally.
"Going forward I want to be playing as much at hooker as possible and that's my goal going into next year, that's why I've stayed here and Edinburgh's the place for me to do that.
"The Cup run has certainly given us a focus towards the end of the season, which we've not had in a few years and the top six is still achievable as well.”
