Dewald Potgieter has signed a new contract with Aviva Premiership side Worcester Warriors.
The South Africa forward joined Worcester from Japanese side Yamaha Jubilo in February 2016, but was hampered by injuries during the first few months of his career in England.
However, the 30-year-old, who made his name in Super Rugby with the Bulls, helping them win back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010, overcame serious shoulder and thigh injuries and has since captained the Warriors several times and clocked up 20 appearances after overcoming serious shoulder and thigh injuries.
Worcester have not disclosed the length of Potgieter's new deal.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sixways and we are starting to build a culture which will stand us in good stead on the pitch," Potgieter told the official Warriors website.
"We have some outstanding players at the club - a good mix of youth and experience - and I want to play a key part in helping the side move up the Premiership table in the future."
Warriors director of rugby Gary Gold added: "Dewald holds himself with the utmost professionalism and continues to be a senior figure both on and off the pitch.
"His experience is greatly beneficial to the younger members of the squad and we are delighted he has committed his future to the club."
