New Zealand back does not need surgery on his shoulder

New Zealand back Richard Kahui could return to action before the end of the Tri-Nations despite fracturing his shoulder. The 25-year-old suffered the injury after coming off the bench in the opening victory over the Springboks at Eden Park. However Kahui has now been told that he doesn't need surgery, meaning he could be back in action within a month. All Blacks doctor Deb Robinson said: "Richard sustained a small fracture of the shoulder socket but the good news is that the injury is stable and improving rapidly and, at this stage, he doesn't require surgery. "Richard is now concentrating on strengthening work and rehabilitation and we will monitor him with an aim of getting him back into rugby in three to four weeks' time."
