Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath described his team's work ethic as 'outstanding' following their 23-9 victory over London Irish on Friday.
The Cherry and Whites notched up their seventh successive win in all competitions as they moved into third place in the Aviva Premiership table with the victory at Kingsholm.
"We had to be patient and not force the game tonight," said Redpath. "And our work ethic as a team was outstanding.
"There was great effort and commitment, especially in defence, and we were disciplined around the contact area.
"I am chuffed for the players. We had a short turnaround after the Wasps game last Sunday, and if a couple more passes had stuck in the first half we could have gone in with more of a lead."
Redpath singled out former England back row Luke Narraway for special praise and suggested it may be time the number-eight was given a recall by Martin Johnson.
"He is leading the team very well, and he is doing his core basics very well," he added. "I would love to see him get a chance (with England) again."
London Irish head coach Toby Booth lamented his side's inability to convert some impressive approach work into points.
"It was a good tussle," he said. "But Gloucester took their chances and we didn't. Once we got into the danger zone we didn't convert what we created.
"Gloucester are on the up, and we are perhaps striving a little too much to make it happen. I don't think we are lacking in accuracy - we are lacking in composure."
