Wales centre Jonathan Davies is returning home to play for Scarlets on a National Dual Contract (NDC).
The 27-year-old, who has made 48 appearances for Wales, is heading back to his home region after a spell with French Top 14 side Clermont Auvergne.
He becomes the 17th player to sign an NDC, which are joint agreements between the Welsh Rugby Union and the professional Welsh regional sides.
"I am delighted to have signed a national dual contract and to be returning to the Scarlets," said Davies, who made 104 appearances for Scarlets between 2006 and 2014.
"I have immensely enjoyed my time in France and would like to thank Clermont Auvergne for the opportunity.
"The joint commitment between the WRU and regions is driving for success and I believe the time is right to return to Wales and signing an NDC is the best decision for me rugby-wise."
Scarlets chief executive Darran Phillips said: "Jon developed through the system with us here at the Scarlets and his return to the region is further evidence of our ambition to be competitive at the highest level."
Davies, who played in all three Tests on the British and Irish Lions' tour of Australia in 2013, is the latest big name to return to Wales.
Last week Ospreys players Scott Baldwin, James King, Dan Baker and Rory Thornton were added to the previous list of 12 NDCs, which included the likes of national team captain Sam Warburton, Alun-Wyn Jones and Dan Biggar.
