Anthony Watson looks set to play a major role in England's autumn series opener against Argentina on Saturday, despite Eddie Jones' initial plans to rest him.
The winger suffered an injury scare in September when he took a blow to his shoulder while playing for Bath, and he featured heavily during The British and Irish Lions' tour of New Zealand this summer.
But injuries to Jonny May, Elliot Daly and Jack Nowell had left England with just three fit players in the position and caused Jones to rethink his options.
Despite earlier concerns about his own fitness, Watson told Sky Sports News that he is fit and ready to play in Saturday's game against Argentina, live on Sky Sports.
"I didn't actually miss a game in the end. The boys were calling me Lazarus at the club because I went off clutching my shoulder and then played the week after.
"It's part and parcel of rugby. These things happen, you've just got to try and control what you can control and get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
"The correspondence I've had with Eddie has been very thorough. I've just come into camp and done what's asked of me. I feel great within my body."
England warmed up for the autumn internationals at a training camp in Portugal this week, and Watson says the trip has provided the ideal preparation for the upcoming matches.
"Last week was definitely a great opportunity for me and the other boys to re-condition our bodies. We didn't spend a huge amount of time doing just necessarily fitness work, we did a lot of stuff just to get our bodies right and better prepared for running and rugby in general."
