Six Nations: Wales centre Scott Williams shocked by Adam Jones omission
Monday 26 January 2015 15:54, UK
Wales centre Scott Williams admits he was surprised at the controversial omission of experienced prop Adam Jones for the forthcoming Six Nations.
Wales head coach Warren Gatland left Jones out of the squad - prompting the 33-year-old Cardiff Blues star to call time on an illustrious international career that saw him win 95 caps for his country and play five times for the British & Irish Lions.
Williams said of the news: "I was a little bit surprised - Adam's been a world-class prop over the last couple of years.
"He's done a lot for the country. It's obviously his personal decision but he's still got a lot left in his career."
Looking ahead to the tournament-opening clash with England at the Millennium Stadium on February 6, Williams added: "They've had a few injuries but they're still a world-class side and they're going to take some beating.
