Central Cheetahs back row Kabamba Floors has been handed a five-week ban for dangerous tackling, it was confirmed on Sunday.
Floors was found guilty of making a dangerous tackle on Brumbies' fullback Julian Huxley in the 77th-minute of their clash in Canberra on Saturday.
With the Cheetahs crashing to a 61-15 defeat and out of play-off contention, the ban effectively ends the number eight's Super 14 season.
South Africa New Zealand and Australia Rugby (SANZAR) said that Floors, a former skipper of the Springbok sevens side, had been banned under law 10.4.
The law states that a player shall receive censure for 'lifting a player from the ground and either dropping or driving that player's head and/or upper body into the ground whilst the player's feet are off the ground."
Delivering the ban, SANZAR Judicial Officer Dennis Wheelahan QC, who heard the case, warned of an increasing number of similar incidents in this season's Super 14 competition.
He said he hoped the length of Floor's suspension would act as a general deterrent to dangerous tackling.
