Devin Toner has signed a new two-year deal with the IRFU that will see him remain at Leinster until the summer of 2017.
The 28-year-old Ireland international lock has played for Leinster since 2006 and has won 20 caps for his country after making his debut against Samoa in November 2010.
Toner, who was a member of the Ireland team that won the Six Nations earlier this year, has also picked up three Heineken Cup winners’ medals, along with three PRO12 League titles.
He made his senior debut for Leinster in January 2006 and has since compiled 157 appearances, scoring three tries.
Toner's contract is funded by the IRFU and its performance director David Nucifora, said: "Devin has developed into an international level second row over the last few seasons.
“He has performed consistently at a high level for both Ireland and Leinster and is illustrating strong leadership skills in both the provincial and national environments.”
Leinster chief executive Mick Dawson added: "We are delighted that Devin has signed an IRFU contract which keeps him at Leinster.
“Devin's skill, athleticism and leadership adds greatly to our environment and he continues to grow and develop as a player who has a huge role to play at Leinster over the next few seasons.”
Toner said: "It is great to have signed on for another two years with Leinster.
"I have been with the province for almost a decade and during that time the club have invested a lot in my development and have given me the platform to reach my potential and achieve success at both provincial and national level."
