In depth

Verdict

Dark Scimitar remains a maiden after eight starts but has seen his mark drop by a stone in the past year and didn't shape too badly when fifth at Salisbury last time. Aldrich Boy seems in need of some respite from the handicapper at present and that may possibly be the case with By Jove, back for a first start since February. Modern Beauty has yet to shine and now goes handicapping for the first time which leaves us with TROPICAL CYCLONE. She's not one of Mark Johnston's leading lights by any means but has improved for a step-up in trip and experience. She gets a fair chunk of weight from the four-year-olds and can progress again to get her head in front.
