Verdict
Local Spirit, Bridal Path and Campbeltown are the three for the shortlist in the opener and the vote is given to Local Spirit. The Godolphin string have been a little disappointing on the whole this season but they had a 2-year-old winner on Wednesday night and this well-bred newcomer should be capable of getting punters off to a winning start today, Bridal Path rates as the main danger as she made a pleasing debut at Ripon when sixth behind Pickett. She was not helped by her wide draw that day and as she is sure to come on for the experience she could go well. Campbeltown will be suited by the return to this trip after disappointing over 7f at Folkestone last time. He had looked progressive prior to that run and with his stable in good form he is another that can¿t be dismissed lightly. Ed Dunlop¿s Island Odyssey ran with promise last time and is another to factor in for each-way players, but for the winner we will stick with Local Spirit.
