Verdict
Difficult to be over confident about any of these, but our vote goes to Atlantic Quest, who won at Newmarket in May last year and gives the impression that he has the stomach for a battle. A recent run will have put him straight and with Mark Johnston having a great record here he is taken to endorse that and score over a trip that should be ideal. Kieren Fallon partners The Judge here, which would give the gelding a bit of a squeak. Certainly, he is open to improvement, being only lightly raced and bred to get this trip, but the yard have yet to have a turf winner and this one does not stand out as an obvious one to break that sequence. Sandy Lady has definite place claims though. The filly seems to go on any surface and over a range of trips, so a mile should not be a problem. With Richard Hannon having made a good start and Pat Eddery up, she can give the selection most to do. Another who cannot be ruled out is Seattle Express, who looked useful when winning on the all weather at Lingfield last month and might even prove to be better than these, though he is difficult to assess.
