MUSIC MAESTRO is a speculative selection. Viking Dancer, Landowner and Sternlight look the group to concentrate on from the rest. Sternlight showed improved form at Yarmouth earlier this month and is open to a good deal of further progress. He has nursery written all over him, though and is one to bear in mind for future reference. Landowner seems to be off the radar as far as the Godolphin seasonal targets are concerned and it's hard to envisage him staying with the boys in blue if he fails to make rapid strides. The form of his Brighton maiden was blown out of the water when the winner was subsequently outclassed at Newmarket. So he appears to have the weight of too much expectation on his inexperienced shoulders for the time being. Viking Dancer has a good attitude and a repeat of his battling effort from Chepstow 19 days ago would bring him into the thick of the action. A mile will suit him in time and he is definitely one to bear in mind for a back-end handicap. Admittedly similar comments apply to the selection, as its early days for the son of Oratorio. However, there are plenty of winners on the dam side of his pedigree and, as he comes here on the back of a near perfect performance, Music Maestro is taken as the best option today.
