Grand Finale lines up in tremendous form at present, and can score again over Breknen Le Noir, Bound and Hit And Run. The Venetia Williams stable is on a roll at present, and Grand Finale has helped in no small part with three wins from his last four starts. A high-class juvenile on the Flat for Dermot Weld in Ireland a few years ago, the now seven-year-old gained his latest victory in comfortable fashion at Sandown last week under Sam Thomas who again has the ride, and can claim a valuable five pounds. Connections have him entered at Cheltenham and will be disappointed if he cannot go there on the back of another fluent victory. Ex-French Breknen Le Noir has to give weight to the selection but should give a good account, having been galvanised by the refitting of blinkers when opening his account on these shores at Ascot last month. The faster ground may not help though, and a place is his best hope. Bound is getting his confidence back after a fall at the start of the season, and battled on well when second at Cheltenham recently. He makes most appeal of the others, but surely Grand Finale, the only horse to ever beat Derby winner Sinndar on the Flat, will stamp his authority en-route to the Festival.
