Courage Under Fire can make the most of his light weight to land the spoils in the opener, with Count Campioni, also nestling low down the handicap one of his main dangers, along with old Tremallt. Courage Under Fire put in a sterling performance on only his second start of the season when second to Jimmy Tennis at Leicester last week, and as the latter is due to line up fancied for Saturday's Racing Post Chase, Chris Bealby's charge must surely go close. The trainer did have him in over three miles at Kempton as well, but the longer trip and easier ground at Warwick will suit him much better. Count Campioni ploughed through the heavy ground at Chepstow three weeks ago to gain his first victory in four years. Mark Pitman's 10-year-old is well treated on his old form, and if he can be kept sound, is capable of adding to his tally this season. Tremallt is not getting any younger but continues to thrive on racing and is sure to set a decent pace. Just below top-class at his best, Tom George's veteran may hang on for a place. Of the rest, Samuel Wilderspin is on a low mark these days and makes more appeal than the likes of Dark Stranger who has topweight and a long absence to overcome. With no doubts about fitness or the trip, Courage Under Fire is the one to be on.
