General Smith is just three pounds higher than for his win at Lingfield in June, and with Frankie McDonald taking a very useful five pounds off his back, might just be the one here. The dangers should come from near the top of the handicap. Fifth in a competitive Goodwood sprint the time before last, Flak Jacket has every right to be competitive here, even off topweight. Stoic Leader is now only one-pound higher than for his Hamilton win which, admittedly, came on easier going. Byo keeps getting just touched off since being revised in the ratings since his Bath win in March. Pulse has been very consistent, winning twice along the way recently, and while he is four pounds higher than for the latest of those, his rider takes seven pounds off his back. Intellibet One is four pounds higher than for his Lingfield win six runs ago, but he can still stake a claim at this level. A fairly tight affair but General Smith might represent a bit of value.
