Verdict
Platinum Charmer can get back to winning ways in the finale, with Kernel Dowry, Moonfleet and Larking About suggested as the other leading contenders. Platinum Charmer enjoyed a real purple-patch in June, winning four times in succession in the space of a fortnight, and even in defeat 11 days ago, Karl Burke's charge showed that his visits to the winner's enclosure may have not finished. He was only a length off the winner, Kyle Of Lochalsh, and is still well enough treated compared to his old mark to be treated seriously, in this apprentice company at least. Kernel Dowry is just preferred of Walter Swinburn's pair ahead of stablemate Larking About after his fair effort here last time. Moonfleet won like a good thing at Folkestone despite starting at 14-1 and should go well again in the visor, but this longer trip is a worry. Of the rest, any support for Gala Sunday should be noted as he will now be spot on, but Platinum Charmer has paid to follow already and can do so again.
