Don Pasquale was due to go at Catterick on Wednesday, after this preview was written, but he had been in good form prior to that and if taking his chance here he will be a force to be reckoned with on ground that suits, but preference is for High Dancer. Patrick Haslam's gelding relishes cut and was a 1m 6f winner on soft at Redcar last time. A 6lb rise will make this tougher but his love for conditions can help him defy that while the other struggle to cope. Sonia Eaton's mount Don Pasquale has landed back-to-back wins at Nottingham and Beverley and steps up to 12f here. He handled cut in the second of those wins and was running on soft ground at Catterick on Wednesday, so if starting here he won't be far away. Course winner Summer Bounty would have claims at his best, and he enjoys some juice underfoot, while Dream Mountain could do with help from the handicapper and we will side with High Dancer.
