Verdict

Seven of the nine are owned by J P McManus including Joseph O'Brien's trio at the head of the card. BAND OF OUTLAWS is likely to have the Galway Hurdle, in which he finished a close third in 2019 after winning the Fred Winter at Cheltenham, as his target and a run on the Flat in May will have blown away the cobwebs. Stable companion Darasso won easily over fences at Listowel after an equally facile success over timber at Killarney but Mark Walsh, J P's retained rider, is on board Fairyhouse Grade A handicap winner Hearts Are Trumps despite being on runner-up Magic Tricks that day. Sole Pretender, a non-J P entry, was only just behind the selection in the Galway Hurdle and has since beaten the smart Bapaume at Cork before well beaten in the Champion Stayers at Leopardstown.
