Top weight The Manse Brae reverts to hurdling and steps up in trip in an attempt to win his fourth-successive race. He's 6lbs-higher than for his last hurdle win but still looks the one to beat. Camp Nou, owned by Michael Tabor and trained by Jonjo O'Neill, is by Sadler's Wells out of an Alleged mare that won at Newmarket as a juvenile. Tony McCoy is booked and the gelding takes a big step up in trip so cannot be dismissed lightly. Ardour Glowing won four on the bounce two-and-a-half years ago (from a high of 100, races off 100 today) three years ago but has not run for 848 days. Gun Shot is a course and distance winner (from a mark of 82 - but he has won off 92 - now runs off 100 but his rider claims 7lbs). You can make a case for him following his pipe-opener for the year. Southerncrosspatch (also a course and distance winner) has won from a mark of 94 (now 98) and the handicapper is now dropping him in the weights, although he has not run for 214 days. Blue Irish is better known as a chaser now but ran pretty well over hurdles last time. Southerndown ran up a three-timer in chases before his latest fourth place, but has been beaten from his current hurdling mark. Maraud is entitled to run well from his current mark even though he ran out at the second flight last time (Michaelmas Daizy fell independently). The percentage option is The Manse Brae and he's the TEAMtalk selection to extend his winning run to four. Michaelmas Daizy showed promise a couple of years ago but has clearly had training problems.
