Oscar Pepper had been struggling until stepping up on his recent efforts when runner-up at Wolverhampton last month. That was a game performance but he has been raised three pounds and may find it tough to go one better off this mark. Intricate Web has improved lately since stepping up in trip and although this return to the mile is not a major inconvenience he is not well in at the weights here. In contrast Everest may still be ahead of the handicapper and represents a bang in-form stable and he could go well if adapting to this surface on his all-weather debut. Starbeck is another who is unproven on this surface but the best of her turf form would see her go close if taking to the fibresand. The TEAMtalk vote however goes to the revitalised Marengo who has seemingly returned back to his best on the dirt. With luck in running he would have scored over the course and distance last time out and a reproduction of that effort would see him be a major player at a tempting price.
