Mereside Pearl is the eye-catcher here as she enters handicap company on the back of the three required starts, the latest of which saw a much-improved effort when a close-up fourth in a Doncaster maiden. Her shrewd handler may well have found the ideal starting point here but the more established form of LOCKDOWN LASS (NAP) sways things in her favour. A convincing Doncaster scorer, she was beaten under two lengths in a better race against her elders last time and makes plenty of appeal both back down in grade and with Stefano Cherchi claiming a very useful 5lb. Burtonwood and Quercus are most appealing of the older brigade.
