A bigger field than usual for this important 1000 Guineas trial, including Small Oasis from Ireland. BAREFOOT ANGEL beat Believing and Secret Angel in the Group 3 Firth Of Clyde at Ayr in September and was staying on strongly at Redcar on her final start last season, giving the impression she’ll relish this extra furlong. Richard Fahey has won this a couple of times and his Dark Angel filly may offer some value against those with more impressive pedigrees. Fairy Cross won the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last summer and was second in the Fillies Guineas at Meydan in February. Coppice could be anything being a full sister to the Coventry Stakes and Commonwealth Cup winner Calyx as she beat a subsequent winner when landing the odds at Kempton in October with Karsavina and Inner Space other debut winners in the autumn. Girl Racer won easily, despite running green, at Wolverhampton last month and is another likely improver.
