PRIMROSE TIME impressed when winning at Carlisle and, under similar conditions, can defy a 7lb penalty under her talented rider. The drop to two miles really did look a wise move after the mare tired over further on her seasonal return and, with that run clearly not lost on her, she sauntered to victory. The one concern would be her ability to act as effectively should the ground dry up but, in the hope conditions are suitable, she can beat Prioryjo. Martin Todhunter's horse gave a talented Henry Daly-trainer runner a real fright at Haydock and the third horse has since scored with plenty to spare, suggesting a 4lb rise is perfectly fair, although unlike Primrose Time he'd be better on a sound surface. Polar Gunner has quickly dropped to a nice mark but perhaps time is catching up with the veteran and of more interest is Pamak D'Airy, a horse with a fine record here albeit largely over further.
