Verdict

Lucinda Russell's STORMION caught the eye when staying on behind Bardolet at Carlisle last month on his first start over a staying trip and first outing in a handicap and he can open his account in the grade today racing off the same mark. Alan Parker's Buckstruther won well enough at Kelso recently but a 3lb rise for that success leaves him with more to do. Appeal Denied ran better at Carlisle last time but has yet to confirm that he stays this far, while Soul Magic has harshly gone up 5lb for his effort at the same venue last month and now looks too high in the weights. Keith Reveley's Sambelucky is proving to be expensive to follow and of more interest may be the reappearing Quay Meadow but Stormion is preferred.
