In depth

Verdict

Magico, Rubberdubber and Bishop's Bridge look the three to concentrate on in this novices' handicap chase with the nomination going to Magico. The selection won well last time out when beating Priscilla. That form has since been franked and off what remains a fair mark and under conditions that suit he is taken to win again. Rubberdubber rates the main danger on his latest fourth behind Harris Bay, especially as the drop in trip should suit. However he looks on a high enough mark and at the likely odds he looks worth taking on. Bishop's Bridge is another worthy of respect on his best form but he has been let down by his jumping of late so can not be put forward with any confidence. Of the remainder, Lord On The Run is from a yard in form and could go well at a price but is best when allowed to dominate and as that does not look likely here he looks worth taking on. We are therefore happy to return to the progressive Magico as our idea of the winner.
