After a disappointing effort at Hamilton, Imperial Sword ran much better again on a return visit to the track last week and David Barron's gelding is taken to resume winning ways here, getting the verdict over Grand Diamond and Anthemion. The last mentioned ran better at Carlisle last time when finding just Flying Valentino too good but that was over a mile and he may not be suited by the drop back to seven furlongs so looks best watched. Jim Goldie's Botham has been running consistently well this term and should again be thereabouts, while Nufoudh has shown gradual improvement and has been given a chance by the handicapper so is another to consider. Attacca ran better over course and distance last time but is hard to recommend on his overall form of late and a bigger threat is more likely to come from Jim Goldie's more consistent Grand Diamond. Imperial Sword has an obvious chance on recent form though and he is preferred.
