Verdict
Paktolos can round off a good week for Alan King by landing the spoils ahead of Polish Power, Eva Soneva So Fast and Kames Park. Not one to rest on his accomplishments at Cheltenham, trainer Alan King sets his sights on this decent Flat prize with Paktolos who should have the stamina to see off his five rivals this afternoon. The son of Dansili, successful on his final start on the level in France at Longchamp last September, was pulled up behind the useful Pauillac on his debut over hurdles at Newbury in December, but has take to the all-weather like a duck to water. A close runner-up at Wolverhampton in January, he duly went one better over 12 furlongs here a fortnight ago, coming through to score comfortably under today's pilot Jamie Spencer, and he will have no trouble with the extra furlong. Polish Power obviously has no problem with the journey as he is a course-and-distance winner, but Stan Moore's charge is fully exposed and will need to be at his very best to topple his younger rival. Eva Soneva So Fast has continued to fare well despite creeping up the weights, but he does seem to find one too good more often than not, while Kames Park caught the eye in defeat at Wolverhampton last time but has been given a tough assignment. Paktolos should pay to follow this year, and can take this before being switched to Turf.
