Verdict

Onward Route will have needed the run when no match for FINGAL’S HILL at Newcastle last month but we’re loathe to desert Peter Atkinson’s improver, despite a further 4lb rise. Vocal Duke is weighted to reverse Carlisle running in February with Applaus but Russian Virtue couldn’t cope with a further 7lb rise at Musselburgh in March. Donnie Azoff makes his handicap debut after winning a Taunton maiden but doesn’t look badly treated on a mark of 112 and has travelled up from Lambourn.
