Metahorse won at Chester and Thirsk last year but has been well beaten in both starts over this trip, though was ahead of Manitou on his reappearance at Musselburgh. Maximilian Caesar, however, seemed suited by the step up to a mile in the autumn. Classic Speed makes his handicap debut but will have to do better than at Leicester last month. ESCARPMENT led until inside the final furlong at Newbury two weeks ago and can build on that here.
