Ryan Moore is a very interesting booking for NOVELLEN LAD, who gets the nod in this competitive handicap, while Brierty has strong frame claims and the same goes for both Rowayton and Lucky Numbers. The last-named is effective over both 6-7f and his two career wins have come on soft and heavy ground. Today is clearly much quicker than that, but he does handle good to firm and recent form suggests that he will not be far away. Rowayton has not scored since his Redcar debut a couple of years ago, but his consistency in defeat has ensured that he remains on a mark in the 80s, which is proving too much for him. He should again go well but find one or two too good. Brierty is 1lb lower than her last winning mark and is of a similar profile. The ground is fine for her and she should go well but is difficult to get home in front. Absa Luttle needs a drop in the weights, and we turn to Novellen Lad. Eric Alston's string have been running very much up to form of late, and he has booked the champion jockey for the job today on this Noverre gelding. Trip and going are ideal for him, while a 1lb drop since his last run will do no harm and he can win today.
