In depth

Verdict

Karlani gets the vote here ahead of Cape Secret, Shore Thing and Collette's Choice. Much as he has been raised three pounds for a good Newbury run, Karlani remains relatively unexposed and ought to be capable of going well today. Spanish Lace's Turf debut last time needs to be built upon, as does Myrtle Bay's overall form at today's longer trip. By contrast, Cape Secret appreciated the step up to today's trip at Goodwood last time and looks a leading player today, even though he has been raised six pounds for that win. Shore Thing's profile is similar to his and is another to consider, as is Collette's Choice, who has improved markedly for the step up to middle-distances and a six-pounds penalty for a recent very good Pontefract win should not necessarily stop her. She should go well, but we will just side with Karlani.
