The short list contains High Treason, Gringo and Cripsey Brook, with the selection being High Treason. High Treason landed a gamble at Newbury last time and, given that he is officially five pounds ahead of the handicapper for that success, his chance is there for all to see. Gringo looked an improved performer when scoring at Newmarket last time and a four-pounds rise should not stop him from being competitive again. A five-pounds rise for his Hamilton win has made life tougher for Sualda. Count Kristo also has a rise to defy and Khanjar's wins have come so far on the all-weather. Cripsey Brook wins in his turn and, given that he is back to a winning mark, is respected. Neutrino showed promise last season but lacks a recent run, while The Composer is another with a new rating to contend with. Finally, following a good run, Lucky Leo comes into this officially four pounds ahead of the grader, so has to be given some thought and Soho Square has something to prove right now. Overall, though, we will stick with High Treason.
