It would be no surprise if Ashleybank House were to return with a bang, and he gets the vote over Trinket and Master Ride. Len Lungo's charge is an out and out stayer who will benefit from any more rain that falls, and in the hope that he gives his fences due respect, can start to fulfil his potential. The son of Lord Americo picked up a couple of wins over timber last season but chasing was always going to be his game, and you can bet that he has been well schooled. Trinket has plenty of mileage in the tank, having had just two outings in the last two years. Already successful in both bumper company and over hurdles, Henry Daly's charge has the scope to make a decent chaser as well. Master Ride will like the ground but struggled on his last visit to Haydock, and despite having the edge in chasing experience, does not make as much appeal as either of the first two mentioned, with preference for Ashleybank House.
