A couple of these placed over track and trip on their respective latest starts with Retirement Beckons preferred to Got The T Shirt having won a division of this contest last year. Sir Havelock found only one too good at Thirsk last month and can figure while Tarnhelm won at the same meeting at Thirsk but has been beaten off today’s mark subsequently. AYR POET finished last in all three outings in 2019 but posted a much better effort on his handicap debut and return to action with a second at Newcastle. Jim Goldie’s charge looks on a decent mark on that evidence and can open his account.
