Verdict

Calthor looks a nice prospect for J P McManus having easily won a point at Ballysteen last year while Galon De Vauzelle got a race at Lismore in March on a disqualification. BELFAST BANTER has now had nine starts over hurdles without winning but looked better suited to softer ground at Listowel and a repeat would see him difficult to beat. Dedanann has been placed in seven of 11 starts over timber and is greatly respected while Gevrey was conceding 7lb to all-the-way winner Annie Pender at Listowel and only gave best in the closing stages. The four-year-old Gelee Blanche started favourite for a Punchestown bumper last month but was well beaten though better will be expected while Defan, who started favourite on his Listowel debut last month but fell heavily at the second, is another to keep an eye on.
