Verdict

After a promising debut at the Curragh, Portland still looked green when only fourth at Tipperary where he may not have been suited by making the running. JAKAJARO had plenty to spare when landing a soft-ground Curragh nursery so a 12lb rise may not be enough to prevent a follow-up. Nika Pika was five lengths behind but should get much closer on the revised terms. Lia Fail was a surprise winner of a Down Royal maiden which hasn't worked out particularly well.
