Only one non-three-year-old has won this in over 20 years so Lord Vader has statistics against him though Emmet Mullins will be aware of that and drops him back into maiden company after a run in the lucrative Nasrullah Handicap that has worked out very well. Dermot Weld has a tremendous record in the race and Katola, a half-sister to three winners, will have been laid out for the contest. SIMPSON'S PARADOX was beaten just over two lengths behind Weld's Genuine Article at Killarney and the winner ran well here on Wednesday. Jessica Harrington's charge looks the one to beat on that form though Spitfire Fighter is a half-brother to seven winners and is one to keep an eye on.
