Brendan Powell's team are in great form at the moment and an obvious opportunity is found for My Galliano to see off Calon Lan and Walcot Lad. The trainer was responsible for a treble the other day so there is little doubt about the form of his stable and while My Galliano is exposed as modest, he produced an impressive round of jumping to win his race at Huntingdon. Fourteen year old Calon Lan is still more than capable at this level and while it is impertinent to suggest that he's improving - he maintains his ability level in spite of advancing years. Walcot Lad tends to run his best races here and is not discounted too readily. He was won for this jockey in the past and is inspected in the betting for positive vibes. Barton Hill's last run can be forgiven as it took place in notoriously bottomless ground at Chepstow. Andrew Tinkler took the best decision to pull up and the horse should be seen to better effect on this more suitable surface. With the remainder not sparkling of late, we shall stick with an in-form horse and an in-form trainer and My Galliano fits the bill on both accounts.
