Verdict
It's good for racing that the winners of the two 1000 Guineas, Blue Bunting and Misty For Me, along with impressive Cheshire Oaks winner Wonder Of Wonders, line up here. However, it's HAVANT, only sixth in the first fillies' classic at Newmarket, who gets the vote. Sir Michael Stoute's filly has a stamina-packed pedigree and didn't enjoy the fast conditions at HQ where the trip was definitely on the short side but she stayed on very nicely and looks cast-iron each-way here. Newmarket heroine Blue Bunting was a surprise winner as she wasn't expected to have the pace to succeed and is another sure to be suited by the much longer trip. She'll be difficult to beat while Misty For Me is very closely matched with her on a line through dual Guineas runner-up Together and her run in the Newmarket classic earlier can be ignored. Wonder Of Wonders looked a very progressive filly at Chester but that race has proved a very poor guide to the Oaks in the past and she may not be quite good enough.
