Verdict

CRYPTIC has been generally disappointing this season but took time to discover form in his juvenile campaign too. His latest run at Kempton was more like it, staying on nicely to claim the runner-up spot after a far from trouble-free passage. He’ll need to maintain that level here but, if doing so, the son of Lord Shanakill looks the one to beat. The Johnson Houghton yard has already enjoyed their best season numerically with plenty of the term to go and Golden Wedding is a thoroughly consistent stable servant who should be on the premises once again. He's been competing over 7f on recent starts but is equally effective over the mile and is effective on forecast conditions. Jabbaar is a possible improver but he was a well-beaten favourite last time and hasn't encountered ground with cut.
