MODULAR MAGIC is the least exposed having finished runner-up at Newcastle when last in action in November. He may prove good enough on his reappearance given both Tanasoq and Major Pusey look no nearer ending long losing runs despite a tumble down the weights. There was little between runner-up Pavers Pride and Sound Of Iona at Hamilton on their penultimate starts and that’s likely to prove the case once again.
Modular Magic 13-2 (9-0) Pulled hard, tracked leaders, challenged over 1f out, led inside final furlong, headed towards finish, 2nd of 13, 1 1/2l behind Be Proud (8-13) at Newcastle 5f hcp (5) pol in Nov.
Sound Of Iona 9-1 (10-0) Went right start, prominent, pushed along 2f out, one paced from over 1f out, 6th of 7, 5 3/4l behind Gunnerside (9-12) at Hamilton 5f hcp (6) gs in May.
Pavers Pride 9-1 (8-13) Towards rear, pushed along halfway, short lived effort over 1f out, 6th of 7, 10 3/4l behind Isle Of Lismore (8-12) at Catterick 5f hcp (4) hvy in May.
Tanasoq (IRE) 7-2 (9-6) In touch, ridden and headway approaching final furlong, kept on same pace, 3rd of 8, 4 3/4l behind Gunnerside (9-7) at Ayr 5f hcp (6) gf in Jun.
Major Pusey 22-1 (8-9) Led and clear with one other, ridden and headed over 1f out, no extra, 4th of 6, 1 1/4l behind Ventura Flame (9-6) at Hamilton 5f hcp (5) gf in Jun.
